I think that Tom Gruber is wrong in trying to defend the use of the
term "ontology" in computer science/AI.  Its clear that the word is being
misused by that community.  Nevertheless, at this point I doubt if its
possible to retract its usage.  Rather than defend it, I would say that
its a mistake, but that its a mistake that we will have to live with.
