We would like to (re)announce the availabilty of our Stanford KSL
Network Services mirror site at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory
at the School of Computer Science, Polytechnical University of Madrid,
Spain.  Although this service nominally came on line a number of
months ago, we have had a number of reliability problems due to
network connectivity problems and due to Asuncion Gomez, who is kindly
providing the service having had a bout of illness and a tenure hearing.

We anticipate that service should be much more reliable in the future,
at the Madrid server, and we recently installed an updated version of
the server there.  If you think that you would get better connectivity
or bandwidth by using a server in Spain rather than in the US, please
feel free to use this mirror server at:

   http://www-ksl-svc-lia.dia.fi.upm.es:5915/

In future, we expect to keep this mirror site running (broadly)
the same version as we run here at Stanford.  This means that we
will be updating about once every couple of weeks.  Updates are
infrequent because we want the server to be as stable as it can
reasonably be, and because it can take as much as 5 hours to FTP
a new release over (!).  Like the server here at Stanford, the
Madrid server will be periodically dynamically patched between
major releases, but you should not be aware of this.

The ontology libraries at these two sites are disjoint.  Ontologies
that you define at one site will NOT automatically appear at the
other site, so you need to be aware of where you are working.
Periodically we intend to merge the ontology libraries, but this
will be less frequent than the updates to the server.  You can
move an ontology developed at one site to another site by mailing
it to yourself and then using the Import Definitions or Import
Remote Ontology commands.
