0. (This is partly a test of the Madefast list
that was recently corrupted.)
1. Check out the World-Wide Web for Mechanical Engineering if you
haven't already. See if it's useful and/or recommend entry additions.
You can reach it via the
Madefast home page -> Design Information -> DesignNet -> WWW VL ME, or
URL "http://cdr.stanford.edu/html/WWW-ME/home.html
(all of these webs are pretty incestuous).
2. There is a new set of pictures from Sam Drake on the Design
Information page: first entry under "Current Designs". If you go all
the way to the bottom of the page, you will see a hint of some of the
new collaboration technology that EIT is putting in place.
3. All of the Madefast web pages so far appear to be only at Stanford
or EIT. I don't know of any others, or even references to the
Stanford and EIT pages in other web pages. It will be poor evidence
of collaboration in this community if we don't establish at least
better web links. Even if you don't have time to put up local
Madefast pages that others can link to, please put at least a
reference to the Stanford Madefast home page in your relevant project
webs: URL "http://cdr.stanford/edu/MADEFAST/home.html".
4. If you are working on a design, perhaps collecting data in an
experiment for machining or optics, please try to record some of the
design rationale even in informal notes so that we can show at least a
tiny bit of design capture for the upcoming ARPA Madefast presentation
in August. Currently there is little of this nature on the web.
5. If you have thoughts about what should be presented at
the ARPA Madefast presentation in August, now would be
a good time to start sharing. Our six months are up
in a few weeks.
