Have you had any replies to this? Are you gathering them and passing them
on to David Paddock?
I am not a metals guy but I passed the question on to a collegue at
Concurrent Technologies Corp, Ken Meltsner, who is. Here is a piece of his
reply:

Ken goes on to talk about some proprietary approaches to doing this. He is
willing to field this is if there is interest.
